# Actin review

Every commitment length is printed on the product page, but the help center says the dose can move the cost.

## The verdict

Actin prints three rates for compounded semaglutide on one page. They are $169 month to month, $143 on three months and $116 on six. Tirzepatide runs $269, $209 and $166. Its own FAQ says the final cost depends on the prescribed dose.

Actin sells both molecules by injection. Two lines carry figures. Each publishes three commitment lengths on the product page rather than at checkout.

1. ## Who writes the prescription, and what do they see?

A prescription precedes shipping. The product page carries rates and dose behavior rather than clinician detail. The intake is not documented.

Every cadence is on the page a reader lands on. Most sellers hold the longer terms back for checkout. The product page adds "Same price, forever", which describes the plan rate, not the dose.

2. ## What happens when the dose goes up?

The help center answers the dose question directly. It says "The final cost depends on your treatment plan and prescribed dose". No dose-by-dose figure is published. The listed rates are therefore opening figures until a higher dose is priced.

3. ## What the price includes

$116 a month is the six-month rate. Month to month is $169. The commitment saves $53 a month, which is 31 percent. On tirzepatide the saving is $103, or 38 percent. Both ladders are steeper than most. Nothing is hidden behind an intake.

4. ## What it claims, and what it cites

Both lines are compounded. A pharmacy prepares them. The FDA does not review them before dispensing. No pharmacy is named.

## Where it holds up, and where it does not

- Strength: All three cadences printed on the page
- Strength: No hidden fees, per its own FAQ
- Strength: The commitment discount is unusually steep
- Limitation: The low rate requires six months
- Limitation: Cost can change with the dose
- Limitation: No oral line is offered
- Limitation: No pharmacy is named
- Limitation: No state coverage list is recorded

## What the evidence says about this kind of treatment

The assessment above is about Actin. These are about the drugs it sells, and they are traced to the primary literature.

Right for

A reader comparing commitment lengths who will confirm the price at each dose step.

Wrong for

A reader who wants a tablet, or who cannot commit past a month.

## The evidence behind what Actin prescribes

These studies examine the medicines, not this provider. Results with approved products do not establish the quality or effectiveness of a seller’s compounded formulation.

- [Cochrane Review of Semaglutide for Obesity: 18 Trials Graded](https://thisglp.com/research/semaglutide-cochrane-review)

A 2025 Cochrane review pooled eighteen randomized trials. The weight figure is high certainty and smaller than the marketing, and almost everything else is graded lower.

- [Tirzepatide vs Semaglutide: Which Works Better for Weight Loss?](https://thisglp.com/research/tirzepatide-vs-semaglutide-which-works-better)

In a 72-week randomized trial at weight-management doses, weight fell 20.2 percent on tirzepatide and 13.7 percent on semaglutide. Routine-care studies found a smaller gap, three to four points.

## Frequently asked

What does the six-month plan save?

$53 a month on semaglutide and $103 on tirzepatide, against the month-to-month rates. Both are printed on the product page.

Does the rate change as the dose rises?

It can. Actin's FAQ says the final cost depends on the treatment plan and the prescribed dose. No higher-dose figure is published.

Is there a tablet?

No. Both lines are weekly injections.

Is Actin expensive compared with other GLP-1 telehealth sellers?

Actin publishes a starting figure of $169/mo. Across the 402 GLP-1 telehealth sellers we review that publish a single monthly figure, those run $49 to $525.42 with a median of $190, which puts Actin below the median, toward the cheaper end. The other 178 GLP-1 telehealth sellers we review quote only after an intake or price by dose, so they are not in that comparison. A starting figure is not a bill — labs, consultations and shipping are often charged separately, so confirm what your own quote includes.
