# Allara Health review

A women's hormone and metabolic practice that prescribes branded GLP-1s and prices only its own care.

## The verdict

Allara charges $149 a month for its Complete Care Program when insurance is out of network. That fee covers care, not medication. No GLP-1 price is published. This site ranks no figure for Allara.

Allara is a telehealth practice for hormonal, metabolic and gynecological conditions. PCOS and insulin resistance are its core. Weight care is one service among many. GLP-1s are prescribed inside that care.

1. ## Who writes the prescription, and what do they see?

Each patient keeps one medical provider and one Registered Dietitian. The same pair handles every visit. The site lists OB-GYNs, endocrinologists and women's health nurse practitioners. Visits are scheduled video calls. The individual clinician is not named before signup.

Insurance comes first. Allara is in network with Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna, UnitedHealthcare and GEHA in some states. Without coverage, the cash subscription applies. Labs are ordered to build the plan. Medication is optional and decided with the patient.

2. ## What happens when the dose goes up?

The prescription page says providers monitor progress and adjust the dose. No schedule is published. The drug is billed through a pharmacy or an insurer. So a dose step does not move the care fee. What it does to the drug bill is not stated.

3. ## What the price includes

The $149 is billed monthly with no long-term commitment. A card must be kept on file. With in-network insurance, copays, coinsurance and deductibles apply instead. Labs and prescriptions may be covered by insurance, per the seller. An uninsured buyer has no published drug figure.

4. ## What it claims, and what it cites

The GLP-1s named are branded and FDA-approved: Zepbound, [Wegovy](https://thisglp.com/research/semaglutide-cochrane-review) pen and tablet, and Foundayo. The page also names Ozempic, Mounjaro and Saxenda. No compounded GLP-1 is offered on the pages read.

## Where it holds up, and where it does not

- Strength: Branded, FDA-approved GLP-1s only
- Strength: Same clinician and dietitian at every visit
- Strength: In network with several major insurers
- Strength: No long-term commitment on the cash plan
- Limitation: No medication price is published
- Limitation: The cash fee buys care, not the drug
- Limitation: Insurance status decides the cost
- Limitation: Full care is not offered in every state

## What the evidence says about this kind of treatment

The assessment above is about Allara Health. These are about the drugs it sells, and they are traced to the primary literature.

Right for

A woman with PCOS or insulin resistance who wants a specialist team and may have coverage.

Wrong for

A cash buyer who wants one monthly figure that includes the medication.

## The evidence behind what Allara Health prescribes

These studies examine the medicines, not this provider. Results with approved products do not establish the quality or effectiveness of a seller’s compounded formulation.

- [Cochrane Review of Semaglutide for Obesity: 18 Trials Graded](https://thisglp.com/research/semaglutide-cochrane-review)

A 2025 Cochrane review pooled eighteen randomized trials. The weight figure is high certainty and smaller than the marketing, and almost everything else is graded lower.
