# GoodRx review

The prescription-coupon company's telehealth plan, which prescribes FDA-approved GLP-1s only and bills a monthly membership apart from the medication.

## The verdict

GoodRx Care Direct charges $39 a month for care, and the medication is billed on top. Foundayo is as low as $149 a month at its two lowest doses, so $188 all in. Zepbound KwikPen is as low as $299, so $338 all in. Every medication figure is tied to a dose, and several carry an end date.

GoodRx is best known for pharmacy discount coupons. GoodRx Care Direct is its subscription telehealth program. The weight-loss plan lists four brand products: the Wegovy pill, Wegovy and Wegovy HD pens, Foundayo tablets and the Zepbound KwikPen. Patients who already hold a prescription can use a GoodRx coupon at a pharmacy instead.

1. ## Who writes the prescription, and what do they see?

Licensed healthcare professionals write the prescription, according to the page, after an online consultation. None is named, and no credential type is given. The membership buys unlimited online care, described as help reaching the most effective dose. Whether visits are live or asynchronous is not stated on the product page.

A patient starts an online consultation, receives a prescription if it is deemed appropriate, and checks in with the care team afterward. Medication is offered by delivery or pickup. The subscription renews automatically and can be canceled from the dashboard a day before renewal. Weight-loss care is not available in Alabama or Louisiana.

2. ## What happens when the dose goes up?

This is where the figures are most limited. GoodRx's footnote limits the Foundayo price to the 0.8 mg and 2.5 mg doses, and only until December 31, 2026; higher doses cost more. The Wegovy pen offer covers only the first two fills at the two lowest doses. So the advertised floor describes the start of the ladder, not maintenance.

3. ## What the price includes

Care is $39 a month and does not include medication. Foundayo from $149 makes $188 all in; Zepbound from $299 makes $338. A year of care alone is $468. The footnotes list higher prices for [higher doses](https://thisglp.com/research/who-publishes-a-glp1-dose-ladder) and a step-up on the Wegovy pen after two fills. GoodRx states that it is not insurance.

4. ## What it claims, and what it cites

Every product on the plan is FDA-approved; the page says so and lists nothing compounded. Foundayo is [orforglipron](https://thisglp.com/research/what-is-orforglipron), taken as a daily tablet. [Zepbound](https://thisglp.com/research/tirzepatide-vs-semaglutide-which-works-better) is tirzepatide by weekly pen. Wegovy is semaglutide, as a pill or a pen. Dispensing runs through pharmacy delivery or pickup, and no single pharmacy is named.

## Where it holds up, and where it does not

- Strength: FDA-approved products only
- Strength: Milligram doses printed beside each offer
- Strength: Membership fee stated plainly
- Strength: Cancel from the dashboard before renewal
- Limitation: Medication billed on top of the membership
- Limitation: Lowest prices cover only the lowest doses
- Limitation: Several offers end on a stated date
- Limitation: Alabama and Louisiana residents are excluded

## What the evidence says about this kind of treatment

The assessment above is about GoodRx. These are about the drugs it sells, and they are traced to the primary literature.

Right for

A reader who wants brand medication with the dose-by-dose terms in writing and accepts a separate care fee.

Wrong for

A reader planning past the starting doses on a fixed budget, since the lowest figures stop there.

## The evidence behind what GoodRx prescribes

These studies examine the medicines, not this provider. Results with approved products do not establish the quality or effectiveness of a seller’s compounded formulation.

- [What Is Orforglipron? A Daily GLP-1 Tablet That Is Not a Peptide](https://thisglp.com/research/what-is-orforglipron)

A small-molecule daily tablet, not a peptide. Over 72 weeks in 3,127 adults, weight fell 11.2% on the top dose against 2.1% on placebo. No trial has compared it against an injection.

- [Tirzepatide vs Semaglutide: Which Works Better for Weight Loss?](https://thisglp.com/research/tirzepatide-vs-semaglutide-which-works-better)

In a 72-week randomized trial at weight-management doses, weight fell 20.2 percent on tirzepatide and 13.7 percent on semaglutide. Routine-care studies found a smaller gap, three to four points.

## Frequently asked

What does Zepbound cost through GoodRx?

The KwikPen is as low as $299 a month for medication. The $39 care membership is added, so $338 a month all in at the lowest price.

Is the $39 membership optional?

No. The footnotes say the $39 monthly fee applies and does not include medication.

Does GoodRx sell compounded GLP-1s?

No. The page states it offers only FDA-approved medications.

Is GoodRx legit?

GoodRx is a GLP-1 telehealth sellers service. Its stated availability: US except AL and LA. What our record does not establish: whether it bills insurance and how its intake works. Ask for those in writing before you pay.

Is GoodRx expensive compared with other GLP-1 telehealth sellers?

GoodRx publishes a starting figure of $188/mo. Across the 402 GLP-1 telehealth sellers we review that publish a single monthly figure, those run $49 to $525.42 with a median of $190, which puts GoodRx below the median, toward the cheaper end. The other 178 GLP-1 telehealth sellers we review quote only after an intake or price by dose, so they are not in that comparison. A starting figure is not a bill — labs, consultations and shipping are often charged separately, so confirm what your own quote includes.
