Amazon One Medical review
Pay-as-you-go prescribing for branded GLP-1s, where the visit, the medication and the labs are three separate bills.
The verdict
Amazon One Medical sells the visit, not the drug. Care starts from $39, and medication is bought separately at a pharmacy. The lowest cash figure shown, $149 for a starting-dose tablet, depends on a manufacturer coupon and eligibility.

Amazon One Medical offers GLP-1 weight care two ways. On-Demand Care is cash-only telehealth, paid per treatment. Scheduled Visits run through One Medical's membership and can bill insurance. The prices below are the On-Demand route's.
Who writes the prescription, and what do they see?
A licensed One Medical clinician reviews an online intake and decides whether a GLP-1 fits. Eligibility is set out plainly: adults 18 to 64, meeting FDA criteria, without diabetes. Recent labs showing creatinine, eGFR and fasting glucose are required. Clinicians will not prescribe a compounded medication.
After a treatment, a patient can message the care team for 14 days. Past that window, a new treatment request is needed. Prescriptions go to any pharmacy, with Amazon Pharmacy shown as an option. On-Demand Care does not handle prior authorizations.
What happens when the dose goes up?
The page says treatment begins at a starter dose and steps up at check-ins. Every cash figure it shows is for the starting dose only. Prices at maintenance doses are not published. The page adds that meaningful loss, above 5%, usually appears around week 12.
What the price includes
Three costs apply. The visit starts from $39 and varies by state. The medication is bought separately; the cash tablet price of $149 includes a manufacturer coupon, if eligible. Labs are purchased separately too. With insurance, the page estimates $25, but that applies only after prior authorization.
What it claims, and what it cites
Only branded, FDA-approved GLP-1s are offered: Foundayo and Wegovy tablets, and Wegovy and Zepbound injections. Each price card names the supply length and the starting dose in milligrams.
Where it holds up, and where it does not
- Strength: Branded, FDA-approved medicines only
- Strength: Doses and supply lengths printed on each card
- Strength: Lab and eligibility rules stated up front
- Strength: No membership needed for On-Demand Care
- Limitation: Visit, drug and labs are billed separately
- Limitation: Cash drug prices rely on a coupon
- Limitation: Messaging closes after 14 days
- Limitation: Only starting-dose prices are shown
What the evidence says about this kind of treatment
The assessment above is about Amazon One Medical. These are about the drugs it sells, and they are traced to the primary literature.
- Right for
- A cash payer who wants a branded GLP-1 and is comfortable arranging labs and a pharmacy.
- Wrong for
- A reader who wants one monthly fee covering care and medication together.
