Who writes the prescription, and what do they see?
Avono says plainly that it does not practice medicine, and its medical oversight page names who does. The prescribing is done by independent clinicians through Lion MD, a nationwide team led by Dr. Ana Lisa Carr and Dr. Kelly Tenbrink, whose NPI numbers are printed beside their names. The intake runs through a platform called CareValidate, and a clinician may approve, decline, ask for more information, require a video visit or recommend lab work before writing anything.
A card goes on file during the intake and is authorized rather than charged, with the charge landing only if a clinician approves, and the statement reads CARE VALIDATE for both the hold and the charge. Medication, clinician care, follow-up messaging and shipping are stated to sit inside the one monthly price, with no membership fee and no clinician fee on top, and questions reach the care team through a patient portal.
What happens when the dose goes up?
The FAQ answers the escalation question directly: inside a program the monthly price does not move as the clinician raises the dose, so a patient on standard-dose semaglutide pays $219 at the first step and at the last. The bill changes only if a clinician moves a patient from the Microdose Program up to the Standard Dose Program, and the page says Microdose is not a required first step. No milligram is published for any of the standard-dose rungs, so the ladder a patient climbs stays out of view.
What the price includes
The weight-management page is built around the month-to-month figures and states that Avono offers no three, six, nine or twelve-month bundles and never asks for prepayment. The home page says otherwise, showing a three-month semaglutide injection bundle at $699 set against a month-to-month rate of $269, a figure that appears nowhere on the program page. Oral capsules run $289 and $349 on the standard program, and orally dissolving tablets in the Microdose Program run $219 and $239.
